Verifying your email address

Unfortunately, you can't use a generic email address since we'll be attempting to send your outbound emails on behalf of your domain. Since you don't own gmail.com, yahoo.com, or any similar service, these emails will not be able to be verified.

Please enter an email address that contains the domain of your store, for example, hello@mystore.com

From your dashboard, navigate to My Profile > Settings > Email.

Add your "from" address which should be a custom email and not a generic address. For example, hello@mystore.com

Then add the "reply to" email address - it can be the same as the "from" address or a different one if needed.

Continue to the Email Verification tab to complete the process.

You will receive an email from Postmark to confirm the Sender Signature. You may want to check the Spam folder if you don't see it in your main inbox.

Back in your Amplified dashboard, click the refresh status button or refresh the page.

DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is a standard protocol that verifies that the email received was indeed authorized and sent from a specific domain. It avoids the falsification of emails.

Once you've added your custom email, move to the Email Verification tab.

On this page, you'll find the values that must be added to your DNS provider. Here's an example of the records you will see:

Head to your DNS provider and complete the verification by adding the values you were given in the designated space.

Each hosting service has its own settings, but the process will always be the same.

Add a new record and select TXT as the type.

Copy and paste the hostname without the part of your domain. Then copy-paste the cryptographic value. This key is unique and secret.

Customer Tags in Amplified

Tags help you categorize your contact list and make it easier to create segments.

Here on Amplified, you will find two types of tags in your Contact List.

Shopify Tags

These are synced from your Shopify account. Tags in Shopify allow you to organize search results for customers. To learn more, visit this article in the Shopify Help Center

These tags can only be modified within your Shopify Account and it will sync again on Amplified.

Amplified Tags

These are tags that you manually added to customers in your Amplified dashboard. These tags can be modified anytime.

SMS Compliance: Texting Laws and Rules

To send SMS notifications, companies are required to provide transparency about who is sending the texts and what type of content they're delivering.

On the other hand, users must ensure that the recipients provide consent for that interaction.

Since we've partnered with Twilio, we must adhere to their compliance guidelines and best practices as indicated here:

Obtaining consent in Shopify

From your Shopify Admin, navigate to Settings > Checkout.

Scroll down or search for "Consent for Marketing" and check the box for SMS Marketing.

By doing this, Shopify will include an additional opt-in section in the Checkout

Importing Contacts

Whether you have a small or big subscribers list, it's important to create engagement and connect through beautifully crafted campaigns - and what better way to do that than to use a single platform to reach your existing and potential customers.

From the top menu, select "Contacts" and when the new window opens, locate the button on the top right corner and select the option that fits best for your business:

Import CSV or XLSX
- This option allows you to bring subscribers that you collected using a different platform or an external service. Make sure you use the template available to run a successful import.
Import from Shopify
- This button will allow you to easily sync the contacts in your Shopify platform with us. You will find this helpful to create segments with those existing customers later on.

Depending on the size of your list, importing can take a while to be completed. We will notify you once it's done.
