# Customer Tags in Amplified

Tags help you categorize your contact list and make it easier to create segments.

Here on Amplified, you will find two types of tags in your Contact List.

*   **Shopify Tags**
    
    These are synced from your Shopify account. Tags in Shopify allow you to organize search results for customers. To learn more, visit [this article](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/shopify-admin/productivity-tools/using-tags) in the Shopify Help Center
    
      
    These tags can only be modified within your Shopify Account and it will sync again on Amplified.

*   Amplified Tags
    
    These are tags that you manually added to customers in your Amplified dashboard. These tags can be modified anytime.
